Instructions for viewing movies

A movie has been made of the tides and tidal currents from the series of images shown in the atlas. The movie depicts a tidal cycle for both the entire Juan de Fuca System and Vancouver Harbor.

Two versions of a movie can be selected. The information is the same on each version; however; the system requirements are different.

• Large Format - for users with screen resolution of at least 1152 X 864 and with a high speed line to the Internet.
• Small Format - for users with screen resolutions of at least 800 X 600 and connected to the Internet with a connection of at least 28 kbs

Also, unfortunately, the movies view differently in Netscape and Internet Explorer. In Netscape, the aspect ratio of the movie is maintained, but the entire movie may not be viewable. In Internet Explorer, the movie fits the available window, but the aspect ratio is not maintained.

The atlas which can be viewed will be shown on the Left Frame after you select the movie format.
